Spicy Avocado Sauce

You can find avocado on anything these days, so why not try it on a crab cake? You will need ½ of a medium avocado, one tablespoon of mayo, one tablespoon of fresh lime juice, one jalapeno or serrano chile, stemmed and quartered, ¼ cup of milk, and a pinch of sugar and salt. Put the avocado, mayo, lime juice, salt, sugar, and just one-fourth of the chili in a food processor until the chile is finely chopped. Next, add milk and puree until the sauce is smooth. Simply put the sauce in the fridge (covered) to chill until you’re ready to enjoy your crab cakes.

Easy Remoulade

Remoulade originated in France, bringing together mayo, herbs, pickles, and capers. There are various versions of American remoulade, but most require, mayo, lemon juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce. For this easy remoulade, you will need ¼ cup of mayo, one teaspoon of Dijon mustard, one teaspoon of sweet relish, ¼ teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, ¼ teaspoon of prepared horseradish sauce, a squeeze of lemon, and a few drops of hot sauce. Once you have all the ingredients, the hard part is over. Simply combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl, then chill for at least four hours before serving.

Sweet Chili Sauce

This sweet, yet spicy sauce is the perfect pairing for any crispy crab cake. You will need two teaspoons of canola oil, two cloves of minced garlic, ½ cup of sugar, ½ cup of unseasoned rice vinegar, two tablespoons of chili paste sambal oelek, one tablespoon of lime juice, one tablespoon of fish sauce, two tablespoons of cornstarch, and two tablespoons of water. Start by heating the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat, then cook garlic for about two minutes. Stir in sugar, vinegar, chili paste, lime juice, and fish sauce, and bring to a boil. Continue to cook for about three minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved. Then, stir cornstarch and water into a separate bowl, then whisk into the chili sauce and cook for about two minutes. The sauce can be served hot or at room temperature. Enjoy!
