Summer is officially here now that we’ve kicked off the long Memorial Day weekend, and the next holiday we can look forward to is Father’s Day! It’s the perfect time to fire up the grill, throw on an apron, and make some delicious meals. We’re big fans of crab cakes around here – as they make a perfect appetizer or entrée for your Father’s Day dinner.
Crab cakes have that great melt-in-your-mouth texture when cooked right. However, sometimes you miss the crunch and snap. Fortunately, to go along with your crab cakes at your Father’s Day cookout, Cooking Light put together a list of a few side dishes that might go great with your crab cakes! You can think about doing any one of the following dishes:
-Grilled pepper poppers
-Light and fresh potato salad
-Grilled romaine lettuce with blue cheese dressing
-Corn on the cob
-Lemon verbena gimlets
All of these dishes are easy to make, take no time at all, and can add a totally different element of taste and texture to your Father’s day cookout. Better yet, they’re all healthy and yummy!
Fortunately, making crab cakes is pretty easy, and better yet, Box Hill can do the cooking for you! All you need to do is order them online, wait for them to arrive at your front door, and then pop them in the oven. We even provide simple cooking steps to help ensure your crab cakes are perfect for your Father’s Day cookout:
- For 8-10 minutes, preheat your oven at a temperature of 425 degrees.
- Pop crab cakes into a pan without grease – instead, use a small dab of water or butter to keep them soft and golden brown.
- Bake them for about 20 minutes or so – you want your crab cakes to reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
- When your crab cakes are firm and have a golden brown top, they’re ready to go!
Make this Father’s Day your tastiest one yet!
